Fields

This series explores the antinomy of the countryside quietness and its cultural and commercial important voice with a particular focus on agricultural fields.

Gold

The cheerful flowering fields of rape in the UK attract a large number of foreign tourists, and could be considered an unexpected marketing aid to the tourist industry advertising the UK as a colourful country combating its usual greyish reputation. The crop is considered evil by some because of its allergens, but the harvested oil is commercial gold to others used either as biofuel or culinary wonders.

Rapeseed fields are followed a few weeks later by blue flowering linseed crops, its extracted oil being a staple in the artists toolbox and as such, establishing a link between agriculture and culture.
